I live down on Melbourne's beautiful Mornington Peninsula and am a busy mum to two gorgeous teenage boys and wife to a wonderful and supportive hubby, Warren. I work part-time as a chemo nurse but have a full-time passion for all things millinery. It's my happy place!
I gained my millinery qualifications at the renowned Melbourne Fashion Institute and from the iconic Kangan Institute of TAFE. I'm constantly undertaking various short courses to refine specific techniques in hat making and to continually improve my individualised designs and styles.
I have a love of vintage fabrics, lace and pearls and enjoy mixing them up with modern materials to create headpieces with a unique flair. Using only the highest quality materials, my headpieces have gained recognition at local race days and at industry events, including:
> Stephen Jones Patron’s Pick Winner MAA Design Award 2019
> Top 10 Finalist Millinery Association of Australia Design Award 2018 and 2019
> Best Millinery Exhibit Royal Melbourne Show 2016 and 2017
> 1st place in Spring Millinery Category Royal Melbourne Show 2016
> 2nd place in Spring Millinery Category Royal Melbourne Show 2016
> Oaks Day Millinery Award 'Top 20' National Finalist 2015
> MAA Student Encouragement Award for ‘Best Hat on the Catwalk’ 2015
> Runner Up, Peninsula Cup Millinery Award 2015
> The Essential Hat Award for ‘Best Felt Hat’ 2015
> Finalist, Mornington Cup Millinery Award 2014
My headpieces have been seen in Fashions on the Field finals, on judges of Fashions on the Field events and on TV presenters for Channel 78 & racing.com in the mounting yard.
