This is one of my ward winning hats. "After the rain" has been inspired by the beauty of the English gardens after the rain. Is beret shaped base approximately 17 cm in diameter. Made from buckram and covered with raw silk and silk shaped flowers fixed with glass beads symbolising the dew over the leaves. The main accent is a floating butterfly, hand drawn by me using Japanese batik technique. This is a showstopper hat, delicate and pretty in powder blue and purple.
