The owner assumes the risk of loss or damage when the item is in transit from the owner to the customer. The renter assumes the risk of loss or damage when the item is in transit from the renter back to the owner.
Millinery Market Lender's Protection does not cover items lost or damaged in transit, so it is a term of hire that all borrowers must get postal insurance coverage to reduce their risk, you agree to this when hiring our millinery. The coverage amount should be enough to cover the major damage/replacement fee as specified on the listing's terms of hire. Postal insurance generally costs around $2 per $100 of coverage depending on the provider.
Any minor damage or stain will incur up to a AU $50 fee to cover repairs. Major damage or loss of item will incur 80% of specified retail value. AU $20 cancellation fee if cancel before hat has been posted, no cancellation after hat has been posted. Late return fee is AU $10 a day. Refund will only be provided if hat arrives damaged or arrives late after your race day. Return postage must be tracked and at renter’s expense.
